Published in conjunction with ELENA VANISHING, HOPE AND OTHER LUXURIES is the more well written of these mother/daughter tales of Elena's anorexia and recovery. Perhaps I preferred HOPE because I found Elena to be almost entirely unlikable and unsympathetic, even from her very loving mother's POV/5(20).
